Food: Marché Mövenpick

Pure Satisfaction!

It's the second time I went to Marché a year after the first visit, and yet, the food still remain the same quality - simply delicious. It's a special treat by a friend and all 5 us had the honor to choose whatever food we like. The ordering process is simple. Right before you enter the restaurant, you are given a card where all your purchases on food will be stamped on the card. The amount you need to pay will be calculated at the end of your meal right before you leave the restaurant.

Although it's not the first time I was here, I still had a great fun choosing our seats and surveying every single stall before we actually decide what to order. We've taken a couple of pictures on the food we have ordered. It didn't turn out to look as delicious as it's supposed to be due to the settings of the seats we've got. We've chosen seats where it's pretty dim, sofa chair and hidden away from the rest of the restaurant. It took me some time to edit the picture so that it looks nicer :p So...Let me introduce the few dishes we've ordered.

Yummy food at Marché
  1. 1. Sauteed Mushrooms
  2. 2. Fettucini Carbonara with 4 types of mushrooms
  3. 3. Australian Rootbeer
  4. 4. Rosti with sour cream
  5. 5. Cheese Sausage
  6. 6. Chicken Schnitzel (comes with Roasted potatoes and mushrooms)
As you can see, we're pretty much having a mushroom meal here. haha... Not to mention, not in the photo, our 2 flavored pizza - Half mushrooms (with 4 different types) and Half Chicken. It wasn't that good because we forgotten to tell them no to put any capsicum coz none of us fancy them. And the whole pizza is filled with capsicum taste. -_-' The sauteed mushrooms were excellent though! But my personal favourite for the night has to be fettucini. The sauce was just nice, just creamy enough not to make you feel gross after eating too much. There were a generous amount of mushrooms and yet, you will still ask for more!

Apart from that, the Chicken Schintzel was really good too! There were so much cheese that once we cut the chicken into pieces, the cheese can't stop flowing out from the center!

As for the drinks, it's the first time I've tasted Australian Rootbeer apart from the standard rootbeer we drink at A&W. Not too bad but too gassy and not sweet enough for my liking. I like the bottle though! It also appears to me that everything in Marché can be pick and mix to suit your taste. We had apple+orange juice! There was this lady asking us if it taste nice and let her know if it does. Well...the mix of apple+orange was really really good indeed! My friends actually went for apple+honeydew juice! To my suprise, it didn't taste that bad too! haha...

Overall, the dinner was just pure satisfaction! The price was very reasonable ! Just RM 177+ for all 5 of us. A lot more cheaper than what we've expected. Apart from the dishes above, we ordered an extra plate of fettucini, espresso with a scoop of Mövenpick ice-cream, a cup of lemonade and a cup of coffee. Now tell me, with all the dishes we had, is it not worth the money?

I will definately be back for more because there's this Cheese Fondue which I really wanted to try but didn't have the chance.

Movies: Munich

MunichI guess I'll have to watch the second time to understand this movie. I can't understand half the movie mainly because...
  1. German speaking English
  2. Arab/Palestinian/Israelis speaking English (I am not quite sure who actually, coz they look the same :p)
  3. Very untrustable and useless subtitles
Well...it's not like my English is bad or something, somehow I just have a hard time understanding the movie. However, I think this is a good movie and I like it. It wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. It's a bit heavy, political...historical....for me. Hmm... I don't want to say much about the storyline. (Partly coz I dunno what to say :p) If you need more information, click on the image to read more. :D

Office Rants

I am soo going to look down at the network and security guy in my office! He will be knows as "mrc" here. He is one fella who love to boast, act smart, not willing to learn and practically Useless. He joined my company as a tech guy (my company name shall stay anon), setting up servers, fixing PC etc suppose to be his job. But, he's lazy and he knows nothing! Best part of all, he's got this ridiculous high pay!!! What's wrong with my boss?? Has he gone mad?

He's 28, a person at the age of 28 still acting like a kid, boasting about his 5k salary. 0_0 5k!! 5k! How could someone like him get a 5k salary? I loook down at him even more until recently, to be exact, today. I discovered that he's NO techie in his previous company, he's just a Sales guy. Some sales guy who sells technical stuff. That explain WHY he knows nothing! That explains why when something went wrong with the website or the server, it is WE the developers who have to handle everything. He, mrc, just put his hands in pocket, sticking his head around asking "how is it?". He can't handle to shit. But, he loves to assume, pretends he knows everything, thinks he's more superior just becuase he's 28. Let me give you some scenarios.

Scenario 1
I was downloading my email for the first time in the morning, I noticed I had 100++ spam mails. Wondering why, I asked mrc why am I getting spam mails. He's the tech guy, he set up mail servers, naturally, I will look for him. The FIRST reponse he gave me when I asked him....
me: How come I am getting so much spam mails?
mrc: You went to use the email to sign up to some website is it? Must be la... the whole company never get any spam mails Only YOU!
me: No, I didn't. Why would I use my company email address to sign up weird stuff?
mrc: If you didn't sign up anything then why only you getting spam? If not, then must be your vmware! You have been going funny sites? Go and scan your harddisk, must be your pc infected with virus already! There's only 2 possibility, one is you sign up to some site, one is you get virus.
**Bare in mind that before he even investigate anything, he already made a couple of assumptions. Later I found out, I am not the only one who's been getting 100 over spam mails**

Scenario 2
Staff from another branch was having problem sending emails. Not knowing what to do, because mrc literally ignore them, they seek for another colleague(K) for help. Being helpful, the colleague sent an email to inform mrc about the situation. Why email? Because...knowing his attitude, the colleague do not wants to talk to him. Soon after the email...
mrc: How come other branch cannot send email never inform me?
K: I don't know, they just messaged me and told me to let you know.
mrc: *angrily* I have her in my messenger what, why didn't she tell me?
**That's because, informing him is uselsess**

Scenario 3
The branch having problem with their emails again. This time, K sent an email to inform him again.
--email content--
K: The branch can't send email, please check.
mrc: Not possible, everyone here can send email. They are using the same email server, here can send email means there can send email too!
K: I don't know why, they just told me they can't send emails.
mrc: Why didn't you forward me the error report? Where's the error report? How am I suppose to investigate?
K: *pissed* I am only passing a message, you shouldn't ask me about this.
mrc: ......no reply.......
**you see... assumptions again**

Everytime I see this guy walking around, being lazy, I often have this urge to just walk straight to his face and give him a hard smack on his face. Whenever he talks, I feel angry. Whenever I see him, I feel angry. Which means, I am always angry whenever he's visible to me. Why... why must I see him in office everyday. Oh god... how I wish he could just dissappear from my company.

OMG! It's penguins in sweaters!

Look! Loook at the picture. It's soooo cute. Penguins wearing sweaters!

Apparently according to Salt Lake Tribune the penguins above are the smallest breed of penguins, often known as "fairy" penguins. The sweaters keep the penguins which is caught in oil spills warm during the rehabilitation process. It also improve penguin survival rate to about 98 percent!

Movie: The Machinist

The MachinistNot a very new movie, but I've finally watched it. For me, I think it's an excellent psychology thriller. :p Nope.. no storyline will be reveal here, else it would've take away all the fun of watching the movie. The movie is very spooky right from the beginning. It keeps you wondering what's going on, keeps you curious all the away.

With outstanding performance by Christian Bale (then Machinist, now Batman). You will be shocked by the way he looked in the movie! I can't believe he actually lost sooo much weight for the movie. He's skinny, very very skinny, litterally bones left. He's so skinny that I actually find it scary. I read from somewhere that he actually on live Tuna and an apple a day diet to be the way he was in the movie.

It's not the kind of movie that will make you scream or cover you face. But it's definately worth a watch!

Movie: Goal!

Goal! Finally, I've watched the movie I've wanted to watch a looong time ago but missed it when it was on the cinema. Basically, the movie is about this young lad from Mexico, Santiago Munez (was then living in LA with his family without a permit), trying hard to pursue his dreams as a professional football player.

The story pretty much begins with Santiago enjoys playing football since he was a kid. However, due to his family's situation, he only gets to play in some college football team. And there, he was spotted by an ex-scout whom thinks he's got a real talent and potential in becoming a professional football player. He tried to persuade Santiago to give a it a try in Newcastle football club. Santiago's dad was totally against him pursuing his dreams and trying to stop him from doing so. As the story progress, the movie pretty much explain how difficult it is for a player to try and land themself a football contract and what they have to go through to be a professional football player.

The movie isn't just for football fans. It didn't focus a lot on football skills or what's the rule in a football game. Rather, it's got a very typical story line which simply explains how a young lad trying to pursue his dreams. I think it's suitable for everyone. You also get to see some famous football stars in the movie like Beckham, Alan Shearer, Steven Gerard etc.

Personally, I like the movie a lot. I must add that the main character,
Kuno Becker , does look a lot like a footballer :D. There's gonna be a trilogy and if I am not mistaken, we should be expecting Goal 2 hitting the screen this year. The story will be about Santiago Munez, after his exeperience in Newcastle, he's transferring to Real Madrid. In the second movie, you'll probably see even MORE football stars like Zidane and Ronaldo. I will make sure I catch the movie in the cinema this time. :p

Movie: Underworld: Evolution

Underworld:EvolutionI've just watched Underworld: Evolution over the weekend. I love the first movie, however, the sequel doesn't seems as good as I hoped. The sequel has more storyline and explain more about the history and how the war between lycans and vampires started. Less action compared to the first. It is highly recommended to watch the first movie before attempting the sequel. Otherwise, you will be very lost in the movie as there are many explanations and involves many characters. Even I was quite lost. Maybe 'cause I sort of forgotten the characters from the first movie.

The sequel seems more brutal than I thought! I bet there were a lof of cencorship done for the cinema version. (Yes, I watched DVD :p) There were a lot of fighting, blood splattering, slicing.... it's pretty violent for me although it is not humans they are killing. They were some boobs to be seen and love scenes of Selene and the Hybrid. It's pretty interesting as I don't recall any love story in the first movie. The sequel introduced many new characters as well. You will be wondering who are they in the beginning because they only explain who are they towards the end.

Well...overall I wouldn't say excellent for this movie. A bit of a dissapointment for me. It's still a good watch. If you do plan to watch it, make sure you already watched the first movie to avoid getting VERY lost.
