Movie: Death Note

Well, since Snakebyte complains that the only things we post about is dream and disgusting stuff... ok lor... let's post something which I desperately needs to complain over.

Yesterday, Xell, her sis and I went to watch Death Note at GSC, 1U. It was a very spontaneous decision as the day before we were out books shopping in Atria coz of the book sales! Shall blog abou that later...right now, I need to complain....

Being and avid reader of Death Note manga and now watching the anime series as well, I was really keen on watching the movie. As you can see from the poster... it looks really promising. The 2 main characters - Light (dark side) & L (bright side) looks ok to act as both the characters in the movie.

If you've been following the manga/anime, you might've noticed that there's pretty big changes in the storyline. Take for example Light is suppose to be single in the movie plus he's less evil and mean in the manga/anime. In the movie, he's portrayed as a really evil monster which would kill anybody with Death Note. Light is much more likeable in the manga/anime. For me, I'm pretty much fine and Ok with the changes they've made to the storyline in the movie.

But my BIGGEST dissappointment is... which has absolutely nothing to do with the storyline. Light in the movie is acted by some round face, not-so-tall and not-so-good-looking guy and L looks like his face has been all powdered up! Like he's just dip his face in a bowl of flour!!! =_= What happen to my good looking Light in the manga/anime???

I'm not lying or joking. Look!!! See with your eyes! Look at Light Yagami in the manga. Look at Light Yagami in the movie!!! *screams in horror* Isn't he like BLOATED? And I thought guys like Light in manga isn't that difficult to be found in Japan. But who they got to act as Light??? Everytime he appears in the screen, I have the urge to slap him! He just looks so annoying. Gaaah!!!!

Now pay attention to L. Look what they did to L in the movie?? They dip his face in flour! He looks like he's acting in some horror movie. He's acting as ghost or something. In the manga, L is suppose to look awake, smart and not dead!

Well, at least there's one thing I am happy about the characters. At least the Shinigami looks pretty much the same as the manga/anime. Well, it's computer graphics after all. But still, I think it's a pretty good job done here.

Overall, it's still a pretty good watch if you just don't pay so much attention to their faces.
LOL... In fact there's a part 2 of the movie coming up. Go watch the original one though. It's much better! In the anime, the voices of the characters are really nice. :D

One funny thing that happen in the cinema was there's this guy who fell asleep at the beginning of the movie and snore pretty loudly. Xell kept thinking it's one of our phone vibrating. The guy woke up in the middle of the movie and said "Eh?? Why liket his one?" haha...

p/s: As I was complaining to Xell over the fact that I wanted to slap Light in the cinema... I've mistakenly typed "Fat Found Face" instead of "Fat Round Face". It make sense to Xell and she didn't notice my typing mistake. haha...

Female Toilet on 7th Floor is so dirty!

Ok... You guys should've know I am now working in Mont Kiara. 7th floor of some block. You guys go figure out yourself which block I am at which I will not be revealing here.

Well... As all knows, Mont Kiara being some "higher" class working/residential areas and all... I would presume the toilet here WILL be cleaner. BUT NOOOOO! That's not what's happening here! >.< I wonder what kinda girls are actually working on 7th floor but I tell you!!! They sure are not some hygenic and highly educated in cleaniness kinda girls...

Yesterday, there were A PILE OF SHIT left on the squating kind of toilet bowl. NO! It's NOT flushed! The pile of shit is just sitting happily there. Hence, the entire corridor STINKS! God knows what was the girl thinking when she's doing her business. Something must've happen that she need to run away from her shit unflushed. Perhaps its too smelly, she can't take it herself???

And today... For females, you girls knows there's this sanitary bin in every toilet. You are suppose to wrap your pads nicely before u actually throw it into the bin. There's a paddle to step on. NO...I have no idea what kinda girls, if their mom actually teach them how to keep public toilets clean. I stepped on the paddle... the pad was just laying flat STICK to the cover. So when I stepped on the paddle at the bottom to throw things, I can see A USED sanitary pad stick on the cover!!! You know how disgusting is this????

I can totally understand if this is happening in some shopping complex toilet OR some highway public toilet coz god knows what kinda ppl uses the toilet. BUT NOT HERE! This is a OFFICE AREA! Girls are suppose to be MORE educated Right?? NO?? Then what the hell they study till you get some diploma/degree for???? I know they don't teach you how to keep toilets clean when you're in college/university. But younger age? Aren't they taught how to keep toilets clean???

Argh... I just find it so unbelivable that this is happening!!! HERE!!!! Plaza Mont Kiara! >.<

I had the weirdest dream EVAR!!!!

Hmm...I wonder what's with the blog going on and on about weird dreams... Anyway I had the weirdest dream ever!!! haha... Not ever lar...maybe I will get even weirder ones in the future???

It was a really looong dream with a lot of weird stuff here and there and when I think about it, the entire dreams doesn't connect at all. Anyway... the weirdest part of all... I dreamt that my bf has an EVIL twin!!! They were both absolutely identical! I can't tell them apart. And I was out somewhere and the evil twin took me out.

The evil twin ask me to meet him somewhere at top floor of some building. In process of going up, I had to climb stairs which is dark and a lot of ghost/weird human at the staircase. It was scary!!! When I finally reach the top floor, of course it's just a normal office area and the evil twin was sitting there all bad mood and making ugly faces and thought it was funny with the ghost stuff...

Anyway... All this while I didn't know he has an evil twin, until the Good twin called me and told me he couldn't pick me up coz his car air-cond is spoilt. =_= and who the hell is with me at that time??? And it struck me suddenly that all this while, the evil twin pretending to be the good twin came and take me out. No wonder occasionally he will be in this seriously bad mood thing.... =_=

Apart from that...I dreamt that I was running.... and I was running to a school. And there's this staircase which is haunted... and the girl in front of me was running to the haunted staircase, climbing the stairs and she just suddenly trip and fall and dead. 0_0;;; Well, it's huanted staircase after all.

And I was learning Malay in some weird school with many students. =_= The teacher handed all of us different kinds of bun with different packaging and ask us to read out whatever word we can find on the packaging... =_=;;;; This is like SOOO Weird man...

Well... That's pretty much what I've remembered. And I just finish complaining about the evil twin thing to my bf since he fetched me to work this morning. And NO, he does not have a twin brother. I am safe! :)

Another bad dream

Since I've been having nasty dreams, I shall continue on to another dream I had last Sunday night which made me looked like a panda zombie at work on Monday...

It was a really silly dream.

I dreamed that I was trying to sleep, but I ended up chanting the all-famous Buddhist chant "Oum mani pae me hum" all night. The reason? I was sleeping in a haunted building and something kept lifting my hair and letting it drop... imagine trying to sleep with your hair being lift up and down...

And so, that was entire dream... just chanting the whole night and in the end I couldn't sleep coz I was too busy chanting away. And when I woke up, I was really pissed coz I was still extremely tired. I spent the whole Sunday walking around with a corset, getting crankier by the minute.

I hate dreaming about animals... they leave me crying in the end...

Talking about dreams, I also had a horrid dream on the same day Zen had her tsunami nightmare too!

I dreamed that I was crossing the road from my car to my front gate and as I was crossing, my kittens were running left and right across the road like nobody's business. I had a terrified feeling the whole time as I just stood in the middle of the road so that speeding cars wouldn't come smashing into my babies...

Unfortunately, when I thought all was back into the house, there were actually 1 kitten still crouching on the road and it was grey in colour (that was why I didn't notice it as it was almost the same colour as the road). Anyway... yes the horror of all horrors happened, a car came speeding down the road and I wasn't sure whether it hit my kitten as I ran to the road screaming my head off and the driver stopped (by the way, the driver was a lady). At first, I thought my kitten was fine but when I lifted it from the road, its paw came off!!! I just kept crying there, screaming "Look at my kitten's paw!! You ripped it off!!" (yeah yeah it was a sick dream...) And I just walking around in circles on the road crying and my dad was talking to the driver...
and then my alarm rang.... thank god...

Why mentioned bout this dream? Coz I really hate people who speed when they're driving in residential areas... HELLOOO?? Don't these people know that children or animals could just run out to the road without warning? And don't perceive animals as merely objects that you could just hit and run without feeling guilty that you have just stained your hands with the blood of innocent souls who would leave many tears behind with their depature from this world by your senseless act.

I would never forgive those who murdered my kittens, cats and dog.... retribution will avenged them...

Vena Cork will get you hooked from the beginning!

Finally! I've finished both of her books! And it's excellent! Vena Cork is a new author. Both her books are psychological thriller. Her books are excellent, storyline's excellent too! The books will get you hooked right from the beginning. Once you started, it's quite impossible to stop reading. :D And the reason I started reading her book was coz of the title. It attracts me - "The Art of Dying" How cool is that?

Synopsis from Amazon:
Rosa Thorn's life, and those of her two children, Danny and Anna, were irrevocably changed when her artist husband, Rob, was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Now, almost a whole year later, Rosa is coping not only with the pain and grief of losing Rob, but with money problems as well. As Rosa and her children try to adjust to lives without Rob, a new school (for the kids) and a new job (for Rosa), the last thing Rosa needed was to have to contend with Anna becoming the apple of the local derelict's eye. And when a young girl is found murdered nearby, Rosa begins to fear for Anna's safety -- especially since she's beginning to sense that a dark and menacing presence is keeping an eye on her family...

Synopsis from Amazon:
Appearances are not what they seem. Rosa Thorn is enjoying the limelight at the opening of her late husband's memorial art exhibition, but what is about to happen is more traumatic than she could ever have anticipated. Friends emerge from the past offering something more sinister than goodwill. Behind the smiles lurk obsession and greed, and in the intensely personal and strange world of the Artist, old scores, rivalries and thwarted ambitions threaten Rosa's very existence. Who can she turn to when art and death embrace in the most chilling way imaginable?

Both her books are written in such a way that it is very difficult to predict who's the killer and all. The plot is full of twist and turn and very very engaging. There's a lot of suspense in the story and make you want to read on quickly. :D I love the way she build up each character.

The storyline and the way she wrote the book is kinda creepy and very dark. I actually had a nightmare about the first book. hahaha... Reminder: Must not read her books as bedtime stories. Both her books are inter-related because the story revolves around Rosa Thorn. I would recommend you to read Thorn then The Art of Dying but it's ok to read them seperately, you won't get lost in anway.

I would highly recommend both her books to anyone at all except for those who are faint hearted. Take for example - Xell. Hhahahaha.... It's actually quite scary if you have a very good imagination. Go read it! It's good!

p/s: By the way, she has a third book coming out soon (4 Dec 06), it's called Green Eye. Check it out!

Bad Dream...

I was having one of my worse day in office since I started my new job. I felt so dead in office the entire day until nearly all the colleagues in my office start asking me "what's wrong with you? You look so tired today..." Well... I had valid reasons for being so tired today. Though it might not sound as convincing but I swear I am telling the truth!!!

I had a bad dream before I woke up and got to work. Guess what I dreamt about??? You'll be surprised... hahaha... I actually dreamt that there was Tsunami coming. I was running away with my mom and while running I was looking for my sis and my dad! I could see a big giant wave coming out behind us. It was more than 10 feet high!!! Though it was quite far away, but once the wave falls... we will be swept away no matter how far we are!

I was running and running with my mom, and we manage to find my dad and sis. Then the wave falls...and the water just rushes over. Since I am quite short...obviously I was drowning! I couldn't see anything, can't breathe... Luckily I manage to get hold of my dad and I was clinging on him and thank god! I didn't drown and die in my dreams. haha...

And quite quickly the water subside... and I can walk on the ground again!!! Amazing huh??? And guess what I was doing after that? I was walking around the place looking for my backpack - which was clearly washed away by the Tsunami...

My colleague was quite surprised that I actually went through the entire episode in my dream until I could go and search for my bag instead of waking up in the middle once the wave hit! hahaa... I was quite surprised too! But it's quite often I have drowning dreams... but it's the first time it's a Tsunami. =_="

Now...with this kind of dreams... You think I can be awake in the morning? I don't think I felt like I've slept at all with all those running and drowning... Poor me... I must learn how to swim!!! Then I won't have drowning dreams anymore! >.<

Beef Ball Noodle @ Soong Kee Restaurant, KL

Last weekend, I went to KL with a couple of my friends and they suggested to have beef ball noodles as dinner. Since I have not eaten beef ball noodles before I was happy to go along with it.

Restaurant Soong Kee is located somewhere near Masjid Jamek. It's on one of shop houses on the left side of Masjid Jamek but it's not the row of shop houses by the roadside. It's behind. Anyway, it's somewhere opposite UniAsia and RHB bank. I was told it's very famous and judging by the amount of people in the shop, I do believe that it's quite famous. haha...

Since it's a beef ball noodle shop, of course first thing is order their beef ball noodles. If you do not fancy beef, the shop serves Pork ball Noodles as well. Since it's the first time I've been here, I was quite surprised that the noodles are served dry. On top of the noodles, there's minced beef. Of course, if you do not fancy beef, you can have minced pork. Then you will have to stir your noodle so that the sauce are mixed evenly. Yummy looking right? Well... of course it didn't only looks nice... it's actually very nice!

They serve the beef ball...beef tripe...beef etc etc all in a seperate bowl of soup. The soup is nice and the beef ball is really nice! I don't really know how to describe what I am eating... but it cetainly taste quite good for me lar! It's not too expensive as well. What I was having is for one person and I think it cost RM 4.50. (If I didn't remember wrongly) I wouldn't mind going there again. :D

p/s: As for Xell...I think there's a lot of things she won't eat in the bowl of soup. I think literaly nothing she will eat in the bowl of soup. hahaha...

Bak Kut Teh @ Seapark

My boyfriend and I have been eyeing on this BKT for quite some time. It's always full / packed whenever we pass by. So one day, both of us decided to give it a try. It's actually located at Seapark, not that far away from Giant. In the morning, it's Restoran Fatt Kee, at night, its the BKT outside the shop. Since the restoran is at the corner, there's an empty section which is occupied by one of those famous Indo Mee Shop around the area.(One day I shall go try too! It's packed always as well).

All the tables and chairs are arranged by the road side as well as all the corridors. Once you reach this area, there's no way you can miss this stall.

Since there's only 2 of us, we ordered the standard mix all for 2 person. My my...when the pot came, hmm...it's actually kinda big pot and smells really good too! There's the standard pork ribs (排骨), pork stomach (猪肚), pork tripe (猪肠), mushrooms, vegies etc etc. Looks good huh!

And of course, eating BKT you can't miss out the yau char kuey (油炸鬼) as well as the oily rice (油饭). I was hoping to have yam rice though. However they don't serve yam rice, alternatively they have oily rice with fried shallots (葱油饭). We ordered vegetables as well.

It was really a satisfying meal as I am quite happy with the taste of the BKT soup which is very important! The yau cha kuey is pretty fresh too not like one of those yucky yau cha kuey at the steamboat I had previously. The price was pretty resonable as well. With drinks, the meal cost about RM 20+. I will definately be going there again! :D

Korean Instant Noodles

Lunch time! It is raining so heavily that it is impossible for anyone to walk to Sri Hartamas for lunch. So my colleague decided to go get some food to eat in office in the food court.

Since it was raining cats and dogs, we had to go through the underground carpark to go to the opposite block. As we walk...we stumble upon this newly opened Korean Supermart. Actually, not exactly stumble one lar.. hahah... We've seen the shop in renovation till now is opened but never thought of going into it...

Well..since we're like in front of the supermart. In we go... and wahla... we found Korean Instant noodles. There's many flavours there and my colleague was looking for something spicy so i went for the beef flavour and she went for the kimchi flavour. Or at least that's what we think we're eating lar... haha...since neither of us understand Korean...

The noodles is actually quite big bowl lar... And you have to pour hot water and wait for about 5 minutes for the noodles to cook.

And 5 minutes later...this is what I get. There's like bits and pieces of Beef inside. It's filling for me coz it's such a big bowl. It cost Rm 3.60. =_= Not that cheap huh for instant noodles. hehehe... but it's quite nice though. I might buy again. haha
