Movie: Pathfinder

Been busy lately, too many things happening at work. *sighs* Sorry guys, never been updating. So simple post... here u go :D

Some last last week (I think!) I went to watch Pathfinder with my bf. I wasn't really interested in watching this movie coz seems like there's a lot of slashing and brutal killings (which there really is), I went to watch it anyway. :D

Man... it was a cruel movie. haha... I think there's some cencorship here and there coz really too brutal. However, it was actually quite fun to watch. But I heard some say boring. It was quite nice for me. ALTHOUGH... there's hardly ANY conversation in the movie. Just merely action. Average each character only gets to speak 2 sentences each time. And they rarely gets the chance to speak at all! whahaha....

Well... the main character is seriously damn good looking. I was wondering who is he. Must be some not-so-famous-actor but good looking. Seriously... he's actually Karl Urban. I seriously have trouble recognizing him... he's actually Eomer from LOTR. hahaha... Go watch it for yourself! hohoho...

Anyway, watch it only if you can stand all the brutal killings. Brutal ok? and I mean BRUTAL! hahaha...

When Sinking ofJapan meets The Day After Tomorrow

Not so long ago, there was some weird dreams post like here, here and here. Hmm... Then after that my dreams seems to be normal until... recently...

Seems like my dream is getting more and more powderful. hahaha... This time it's Sinking of Japan meets The Day After Tomorrow. Sinking of Japan is one pretty new movie that just came out in Malaysia. I've watched the trailer a number of times.

This time around, I dreamt that I was in Japan. Suddenly the building starts to sink!!! hahah... Some very tall building just started to sink straight into the ground. I know Sinking of Japan has little to do with the building sinking into the ground la. But in my dream the building started to sink lor. Then... there's this freezing air starts flowing to our direction.

You know... just like The Day After Tomorrow lor... so obviously, I had to escape from the freeze right? Else I will be frozen in my dream. hahaha... I can't remember who I was escaping with. haha... and one of my friend manage to hijack a car and we sped off towards the opposite direction of the freezing area lor. Which is of course coming closer and closer. And I think the person who hijacked the car was J. hahahaha...

Anyway, I managed to esacape. I survived Tsunami, how can I now survive this right? hahaha... But... hmm... I can't remember how I woke up. :p

BANGKOK BANGKOK BANGKOK!

Note from Zen: Sorry for no post lately. Some mad woman aka Xell gave me sooo many pictures to edit, some protrait, some landscape... Trust me... I wanted to give up. My god... *puke blood* Anyway... done... here you go, go read!!!

Just came back from Bangkok and I absolutely love it!!! We (me, ah ya, my older sis, ah ya's colleagues - YP, H and his wife) left from LCCT, KLIA on Christmas eve and our flight was delayed for 15 minutes... and it was a smooth landing in Bangkok too! A complete opposite to our flight back to Malaysia! Our flight was delayed twice!!! From 3.15pm to 5.15pm to 6.20pm! Oh goodness, thank goodness I brought 3 story books along and my mp3 player too! And by the time I reached home, it was almost midnight and I had to go to work in the afternoon the next day too! And the landing was so horrid, my ears were horribly block...

This is the plane we took to Bangkok...

Scenes from the new Bangkok airport... it reminds of me KLIA actually...

How to take a cab from the airport...

Anyway, during our stay in Bangkok, we resided at the Menam Riverside Hotel, a four-star resort hotel, which has a spectacular view of the Chao Phraya River as it is situated just along the riverbanks.

Exterior of the hotel and the swimming pool

The lobby and reception hall

For smokers, the hotel has a designated area for smoking, which is just by the swimming pool

The view of the river from the hotel's restaurant, where we had our breakfast

The hotel has a free shuttle boat service, where its lovely boat (it's very romantic taking the boat at night) will bring you to the Saphan Taksin station, which is the 1st stop along the BTS Sky Train (equivalent to Malaysia's LRT/Star line).

The hotel's jetty and boat

The jetty as the sun is setting and a delightful pigeon which doesn't seem to be afraid of humans

My room's all the way up on the 12th floor and it's got a magnificient view of the river!

The corridor leading to my room...

Welcome to my room, room 1252!

I love the deco of the room, especially the headboard above the beds

The bathroom is wonderful too, but then the water pressure from the shower wasn't strong enough...

The rest of the room...

Anyway, one of the few reasons why I love my stay in Bangkok was because of the hotel. I would definitely come back to stay here, even though it's pretty far from the city, but the boat services are pretty reliable and the train's easy to take to.

And how I love the hotel staff, they're the best! They're extremely helpful and patient handling my silly questions, even though sometimes I know the answer but I still want to ask them... For instance, when I was out shopping on a Monday, I noticed loads of people wearing yellow. Turns out it was because the people are showing their love for their King whose birthday was on Dec 5th, and he was born on a Monday. Therefore, every Monday during that month, the people would wear yellow! Actually, I managed to figure that out myself but I still wanted to bother the hotel staff bout it... hehehehe

Paddington Pancakes @ 1 Utama

I first saw Paddington Pancakes at The Curve. Never been in there before. Then I saw another branch at Plaza Damas and I had my first pancake lunch with my bf and it's excellent. Then, somewhere last year, the open a branch in 1U. They've open quite some time, but I never got a chance to eat there.

Last week, before the movie, I went there with my bf. The branch here looks really nice. Since there's an outdoor seatings area and you can have seats that can enjoy the "forest" view.

Paddington pancakes kitchen are open. Basically you can see how they operate from wherever you sit. The food here are very costly so I don't come here often. hahaha... But it's also well worth the price. There's plenty of pancakes for you choose from in their menu. From dessert pancakes to savoury pancakes to burgers made out of pancakes...

Their pancakes looks really declicous from all the pictures. One good thing about Paddington is, what you see is what you get. Which means, what you see in the menu, you get exactly the same thing on your table. I know many places where food looks good in the menu but it turns out otherwise when it's served.

Since I already had a heavy lunch at Fish n Co before this, I only order one drink. Mango Orange Fizz. Damn expensive man! The drink cost RM7.50!!! Anyway, my bf was damn hungry. haha... So he ordered Mexican Double Cheese Burger. Look at the picture! Yah... the burger bread is made out of pancakes la. Pancakes here taste really good!!!

I thought their main attraction is pancakes. I never thought they cook their beef so well and serve really good beef! You can just cut through the beef so easily with just a normal dinner knife and not those steak knife. It taste really really good!!! BUT... it's not cheap la, RM 25.50++.

But for what we eat, I think it's well worth the price. If I am richer, I might go there more often lor. Unfortunately not hehe...

Fish n Co @ 1 Utama (Again!)

I was out shopping with Sylphiel, haven't seen her for a loong time. She's got new hairstyle and new hair color. hahaha... I shall not comment about it here. hahaha... Anyway, poor her, getting all stressed out at work.

Anyway, since she usually don't get anyone accompanying her to try out new food, this time around, I told her to choose a place to eat. So... we ended up at Fish n Co. Previously, Xell ate there too. Please refer to this post. She ate something else, but the best food in Fish n Co is definately their Seafood Platter.

It's not cheap of course, but you get a lot of variety of seafood. This has always been my favourite dish here. In fact... nearly all the time I go there, I'm having their seafood platter. Seafood Platter comes with loads of fried calamari, fish, 8 prawns, 8 mussels, rice and chips. This time I went, they gave 10 prawns and 6 mussels instead. lol... I remember coz I used to count.

The one we ordered is Seafood Platter for 2. It's so huge that usually it's enough to serve 3 person. There's also seafood platter for one. However, if you ordered for one person, you don't get mussels. The best dish in Seafood platter is their Fried Calamari. Yummy! But there were too much calamaris and chips. Sylphiel and I just couldn't finish our food :(

The meal cost RM 56.50 after tax. A bit pricey but it's definately worth the price!

Movie: Night at the Museum

I finally got to watch this movie. Seriously, I think everyone should go watch it coz it's really funny and very entertaining. Although I don't think there's much storyline or and moral in the movie, but it's sure a fun watch!

Basically it's about this museum where everything comes alive at night. The T-Rex is alive, all the wax figure anything comes alive. It's really cute! I love those tiny little Roman soldiers and those from the cowboys time. The funniest thing was the Easter Island statue.

Go watch it! It's fun! Just don't put too much expectation on the storyline. :D

MySciFiFan Outpost @ Cineleisure, The Curve

This is one really interesting shop that caught my attention as I was heading up to Cathay cineplex. First, it's actually right in front of the escalator of the Cinema's floor, secondly, there was quite some figurines of Star Wars etc on display.

My bf and I decided to go in and checkout the place. Apparently, this place is not only a cafe, it's also a place that sells some action figures and their main idea is actually selling board games. Now, we're not talking about all those conventional board games like Monopoly etc, we're talking about eurogames / designer games / German-style board games. Whatever you call it, actually down to the end, it's still board game la... hahaha... The guy in the picture is actually the owner of the shop whom runs the cafe business.

One thing that really caught my attention was all these board games that I've never seen before. There's also a World of Warcraft board game! I saw Doom too! I am not familiar with this kinda games at all. We were just wondering around until, quite luckily, the distributor of the board games came approaching us and gave us a very long and very detailed explanation of what are all this things about.

He told us that these board games are known as Eurogames. Why? Mainly coz it's orignated from europe. Eurogames aka Designer games has a very big different with those monopoly games, all these Eurogames have the author name printed on the box. Designing these games are the same as author writing a book. It takes time to design and produce.

Eurogames are mainly purchased by 2 types of people. Just as the people that buy books. One type are those that buy everything under the same publisher, like Hasbro, another type are those that buy the games from the same author. Whether the games are good or bad, they will purchase it just to collect everything by the same author.

Another big big difference Eurogames have compared with Monopoly kind of board games are monopoly type of games are nearly 100% depends on luck and 0% strategy wherelse in Eurogames, it's 100% of strategy and nearly 0% of luck.

Board games like WoW really didn't come cheap. It cost RM 350++ (if I didn't remember wrongly). What really surprise me is they actually have an expansion to the game. Most Eurogames are multiplayer games (mutiplayer here means more than 3 players and some up to 10 players). Games like WoW follows the storyline exactly like the game you play on computer. There are many figurines in the game too! They're really good figurarines coz they actually created the game in collaboration with Blizzard.

There are a lot of Warcraft fanatic that bought the board game but have never play the game before! Well... they just bought it coz they want to collect another Warcraft item and the figurines. :p

Other games like Doom, where most are familiar with the online version are available here too. I was really surprise how can anyone play Doom using board? Well... for Doom, there's actually a game master whom controls all the monsters and the rest will have to play against the game master. If you have a very unsporting game master, chances are... no one will win the game coz he can control the monsters, make them powerful till no one can win. hahaha....

The above 3 pictures are how another game call Battle Lore looks like. This is a old time war game where you can relive the history and follow the many battles that happen in history. Most of these games actually takes up to 2-3 hours to complete some might take 3-4 hours.

Since most of the board games are quite costly, not many people can afford it and most of all, these games are not very popular in Malaysia yet, this shop actually allow everyone to try out their games for free, get a feel of how these games are like and if they like it, they might just found themselves a new hobby! The main aim of this shop is to rise the awareness that such games exists and also allow players to have a place to play these games.

I honestly find these games really interesting and I might just give it a try one day! If you guys want to know more about all these games, you can visit the site below.

Dragon-i (龙的传人) @ The Curve

I am sure quite a lot of you guys have eaten here before. It's been open for quite some time. The very first Dragon-i was open in 1u. Then you start seeing them everywhere. There's one branch at Centrepoint. I am not sure where else they are at, but I saw the restaurant at The Curve. Having eaten in most of the restaurant at Curve and despite Dragon-i is not the latest restaurant around, my bf and I have never stop foot in this restaurant before.

Partly coz there's alwaaays a looong queue and packed in 1u and also thinking that the price of food here might be quite costly - which... it is quite costly lar. Not those cheap Chinese food ok?

四川麻辣口水鸡 (Szechuan Spicy Steam Chicken)

Since we already decided to eat here, we're ready to spend the money on food also. First we ordered cold dish. This steam chicken is actually a cold dish, so the chicken is COLD. I think it actually taste not bad. The chilli sauce is really nice unfortunately... I don't find too much taste in the chicken. As in the chilli taste didnt really go into the chicken. But overall, this dish is not bad.

上海小笼包 (Shanghai Dumpling)

In Dragon-i, they're pretty much famous for their 小笼包 (siu long pau). The dumpling was really delicous! You're suppose to eat with some ginger I think. Of course, if you don't like ginger, you don't have to attempt to eat the dumpling with ginger la...

There's really some steps to follow when eating this dumpling. Of course, you have to bite the end a bit first and drink up the soup inside. If you try to bite the entire thing just like that, you will have soup splurting out or spilling out from your mouth. hahaha... which it happens on the table next to us. This man tried to eat the entire dumpling just like this end up the soup drip all over his shirt. hahahaha... Luckily I told my bf how to eat the dumpling, if not he would probably suffer the same fate.

鸡火炒饭 (Chicken and Ham Fried Rice)

My bf have his habit of eating fried rice from every restaurant he goes. This time around, he couldn't decide what fried rice to go for coz there's really a lot of choices. End up he went for the standard kind of fried rice. According to him, it taste quite good and it's like those hotel kind of fried rice.

酸辣汤拉面 (Hot and Sour Soup Noodle)

My dish really took some time to prepare. Anyway... when the waiter brought the noodles, he actually ask if I want my noodles to be cut (at the same time producing a pair of scissors). I find it quite weird, so I said no and when I start eating the noodles, I seriously regret!!! Aparently, hmm...I think their noodles are home made, so it's really thick! It's not like those normal Ramen. argh... I had a hard time eating it. It's damn filling too!

The soup is really nice with plenty of ingredients inside. Lots of szechuan vegie and meat and... hmm... I can't remember what else I found inside. :P It's really thick. Actually you can order the soup alone too!

Dragon-i also serve their home made ( I think it's home made) chilli. There's shrimps inside the chilli. It's those Hong Kong style chilli paste. It's really good. I love their chilli.

As you can see, obviously this meal didn't come cheap. Overall the meal cost RM 60++. Most of the dish cost RM 12 -RM 15 except for the dumpling. Overall, it's a very nice place to eat with plenty of choices to offer in their menu. I will probably go there again. :D

Movie: Curse of the Golden Flower (满城尽带黄金甲)

Last year, I mean end of last year, my bf and I went to watch Curse of the Golden Flower. I was actually choosing between this movie and Night at the Musuem. In the end I picked this. Sort of regretted picking this movie but yet again, it's not good but it's not "that" bad.

I went to watch this movie knowing that it has not got very good reviews and also not knowing what's the story about except for the fact that there's a lot of boobies. hahaha... Yes! I know there are lots and lots of people went to watch this movie not for the storyline but for the boobies. There are so much boobies on display...and they are not normal boobies, they are huge boobies that some tv show in China has change the title of the movie to 满城尽爆黄金奶. Direct translation would mean... whole palace full of bursting boobs. hmm... yeah... that sounds correct. hahaha...

Look, there's seriously nothing much to talk about the storyline. I finished watching the movie not knowing the objective of the show. I don't see a clear storyline or whatsoever. Except the most obvious thing is Gong Li's boobs. No, I am not joking, look at the pic. It's HUGE! When she walks really fast... her boobs bounces up and down.

I can see that Gong Li's boobs really draws a lot of attention. But behold... there are more! This pretty girl boobs is very powerful too and there's this scene where she's running! Imagine the whole palace full of girls displaying their cleavage?

Honestly, it's not that I don't want to mention any more things about the movie. Is just that... this cleavage thing is really drawing too much attention and at the same time, there's nothing really worthy shout about. As expected, Jay Chow still can't act. Still don't see any improvements though this character do not require much acting skills as well.

Chow Yun Fatt and Gong Li is good as usual. The storyline mainly going on about incest in the family. Damn a lot of incest. The movie ended really really unexpectedly. Audience will probably go Huh? and continue to sit there not knowing the movie as ended until Jay Chow's song starts playing.

Overall... not something I would recommend but I know lots of people watch just to see those cleavage on display. Go watch it if that's what you wanna see...

Happy Birthday Xell and Ya!

Whoa... I nearly forgot it's Xell and Ya's birthday today. whahaah... Nolar... I meant to say, I nearly forgot to wish them Happy Birhtday here, at the blog.

Happy Birthday Xell and Ya!
May all your wishes come true for year 2007!

Well, it was one hell of a celebration this year. Nearly every year we celebrated birthday at their house. This time around, we celebrated in Neway 1 Utama. Mind you... it's really expensive ok... T_T But I had to be there. Coz If I'm not, Xell will make a hell lot of noise! *Imagining Xell screaming*

Well, it was fun, the food was not bad. Neway's food has always been better. Sad to say, Xell's present has still not arrive. It's still stuck some where, on the way from US. I dunno where's the plushie stuck at. I hope will arrive soon... I had to give her the plushie that she paid for and temporary replace it as a birthday gift. hahahaha... else she's not getting anything.

Ever since the new wing been built, they always close the road in front of AX to organize new year countdown. Hmm... I did caught a couple of pictures, will post it up later. That's not the point in this post.

The point is, we were stuck in the car park for nearly an hour just to go home. T_T yeah yeah... Sorta expected it... but it was not moving at all. God!!! And there's some stupid drivers who's not even trying to get out. The lane was not moving at all just coz the driver decided to let everyone else cut in front of him. grrr....

Well... thanks to Mei's extremely good driving skills and sense of direction. We avoided all the jam with a lot of my screaming, we manage to turn left right left right and cut in right in front of the exit. HOHOHOHO~~~~ In the end we manage to leave 1u earlier than Xell's car.

Well... wanted to have a round 2 at Xell's house. Ended up it was too late... 4 of us having their birthday cake and ate half of it at my house. hahahahaha... I think the other half... J gave it to them today. Well that's all for now. Ciao~

Happy New Year 2007!!!

First post for the new year!

Happy New Year guys!
Hope you all have a great year ahead!!!
