SS2 Penang Street Kopitiam

After changing my handphone and spending more time there helping a friend to buy pen drive and asking price for some other items, my friend and I are back to SS2 around 12 and just in time for lunch. Having eaten at quite a lot of places in SS2, we decided to try out this Penang Street Kopitiam. It's located same row as Murni.

Once you enter the restaurant, you can see the decor is pretty much kopitiam style. The wall is decorated with wallpaper of the penang view. The menu was pretty impressive with a lot of variety, mostly penang food. The drinks - to my surprise, are not very expensive as some restaurant do charge a lot on drinks.

So... I decided to order the penang curry laksa. mmm yum yum... taste good... with the chili it taste better. I guess that's the penang style right? You need the chili paste for the curry to taste good. However as you can see in the picture, there isn't much other stuff serve with the curry. There's a couple of bean curd... I can't really remember what else is inside. haha...

My friend had the fried kuey teow and he said it taste ok. With the portion, I don't think it's filling enough for him. Overall, I think the food is not bad, ambience is quite nice. The portion is a bit small for big eater though. It's just nice for me :D The noodles cost about Rm 4.90 and the drinks range around RM 2.90. I wouldn't call that very expensive, it's still ok and I think I might still go there again. :p

Finally! W810i ...

After a long wait for the phone to be out in the market... another long wait for the price to drop a bit... I finally go it!!! I finally officially owns a w810i! XD

This is one phone I've been eyeing on ever since I first saw it on the Sony Ericsson site (before it was out in the market). It's a walkman phone with 2 megapixels camera. It's pretty much the same as W800. There's a slight difference between both the phones though... the most obvious is of course - the color.. haha... and this phone does not use joystick for navigation. It's a quad-band (god knows why I need a quad-band phone, I don't go anywhere other than Malaysia) and it also supports EDGE. I also found out that I can set any music as my message alert which I notice some phones doesn't allow that. :p I can also set a sound that I've recorded as my ringtone. Cool huh? :p

Now to the story why I bought the phone...
A couple of days ago, my friend sent me an email about a digital camera warehouse sales at Foto Miami (somewhere near Jalan Templer). It was stated that the latest models of cameras, handphones, digital storage are available and upt to 70% discount! Well... I went, not knowing what to expect because there are times things are not as good as you expected.

To my surprise, I found them selling W810i at an amazingly cheap price. I might be outdated, but the last time I saw this phone in store, it cost RM 1700. However, they are selling at RM 1300 here! Installment plan cost RM 120 x 12 months = RM 1440. This phone model is still consider pretty new, so I bought it on the spot! I went for the installment plan, which was a mistake...Should've just pay 1.3. Anyway, I was all happy, went home, charge the phone for 8 hours.

Then... as I finally can use the phone, I tried to make a call. To my horror... I can't hear a single thing!!! The phone is spoilt!

  1. I can't hear a thing, neither can the one on the other line.
  2. The speakers doesn't work means walkman function is useless.
  3. I can't take pictures

Why would anyone wants a phone like that? It's completely useless!!! So...the next day I went back there to change for a new phone. The guy tested a while and told me there was something wrong with the software. And... he changed a completely new phone for me! (Whee!!!)

All I can say... I was damn unlucky. Anyway, my new phone is working perfectly fine now. *touchwood* Once again, I am a happy person!

So damn angry!

It was such an angry thing to heard! You know what we found out? stupid mrc has installed a spying programme in the network to spy one everyone's msn conversation!!!

That totally explains why he knew when were to going to look for J for lunch! I can't believe he can be that cheapskate to do something like this! Spying on others' conversation! It's personal... how could you do that???

The most amazing thing is what? If he did spy one others conversation, then he must've know that we hates him!!! Why is he still going around places with all like he doesn't knows anything? Why is his skin so thick??? Why he still join everyone for farewell when he knew no one wants him to be there?

I seriously can't believe someone like this exists on this planet!!! 29 years old! Go get freaking get a life! Thank god he left the company already! >.<

Movie: Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest

I'm finally back online at home and I've finally watched the movie. Well... It was quite good. As usual, the most entertaining character has to be Johnny Depp. Overall the movie was a lot of fun and very entertaining to watch.

I must really agree with my friend xel that there's really too much tentacales!!! The octopus and the giant tentables... argh~ Anyway, it's definately one of those better movie to watch this year as compared to Superman or X3. I watched neither, but according to newspaper, the biggest flop this year will be (based on ranking 1-3) - Da Vinci Code, X3 and Superman Returns.

I shall not reveal any story here. There's a third movie coming but no idea when. The story is definately left hanging. haha... but it's not that bad. Go watch it!!

He's Gone!

The most annoying person in my company is gone! Together with 4 other people this month. Yup, 5 person left my company. One of them is mrc which I have all my reasons to celebrate about. :D

I am so glad he's gone. Well... he's suppose to be gone earlier however, his "superiors" wants him to finish up a documentation before he leave. Which I think he deserves because during his time in the company, I dare say he's contributed absolutely nothing except for being a complete asshole! Well, he's gone. And there are some who went for a farewell lunch with him. But definately not for me and Sylphiel. NO WAY!!! It will just ruin my appetite eating with him.

Previous month, there was a colleague who's been here almost since the company started left. Yup... he left. Boss was upset. As for me, I am actually very annoyed. He left a pile of shit for us and he just left!!! Now... the rest of us is going to have a piece of his shit. ARGH! It's just so irresponsible. There's a HUGE project which he's handling and he just left! I am very annoyed with him because he's the one who told us to hold it... work hard till the project is over. HIM..and him? what he did? He left! He make a mess out of the agreement, making promises to clients without thinking if we can deliver the stuff or not... and after that he just left! F**king irresponsible.

Well... Enough of ranting. Hopefully I will be the next person to leave...

San Francisco Steak House Set Lunch

On Tuesday I went to try the set lunch at San Fran, Damansara Intan. It's easy for me to go anytime because it's just downstairs! (My office is at Damansara Intan) I've been eyeing on the menu for some time, this is their second set of menu which looks more interesting as compared to their previous set lunch menu.

So I chose Tuesday to go because I want to try the Spaghetti and my colleague wants to try the Lamb. The set meal comes with any 2 choices of Soup of the day, Daily Salad or Dessert of the day. I'm not someone who enjoy a lot of sweet stuff, I went for the soup and salad.

Initially, they serve you bread and butter, then the salad, then the soup. The soup served that day was Corn Soup. By the time I was having the soup, I'm already kind of full!! Then the Spaghetti came. It was really yummy, very creamy, the portion was quite big. The lamb... speaking of the lamb. It was really yummy too! But... they serve us the lamb from Friday's Set Lunch (see pic below) rather than the Tuesday's lamb.

Anyway, the black pepper lamb was really well worth the price. They serve my colleague 2 big slices of lamb! I couldn't finish my spaghetti and my colleague was stuffed with lamb! haha...

Considering what we were serve, the portion, the taste and all. RM 13.90++ (5% govt tax and 10% service charge) is really well worth the money. After all the taxes, it round up to about Rm 15 per person. I might try their other set lunches soon.

Above's the menu of the set lunches for one whole week. Click on it for a larger version. Perhaps, you can decide which day you want to have your meal there. If I am not mistaken, there's set lunch at the Mid Valley branch too. I'm not sure what they serve, but you could visit their website and check it out » San Francisco Steak House It's under the promotion section.

Books: God's Debris

God's Debris
You can download the free e-book here » God's Debris e-book

2 days ago, Sylphiel introduce the book to me. It's not very long, it's just 132 pages or a bit more. Very easy to read but it really makes you think. The book is meant to make you think and I find it very interesting. In case you wonder who's the author, its' Scott Adams! The cartoonist who draws Dilbert.

Why is it free? Well, this book pretty much meant to be share and discuss with your friends. The book brings a lot of new concept about many big topic like god, evolution, quantum physics... No, I don't think this is a religous book. So don't worry, it doesn't mention anything nor condemn any religion.

Anyway, I will include a very very short snippet from pretty much quite the beginning of the book, at least you will get a feel whar sort of questions and answers u get in the book.

“Do you believe God is omnipotent and that people have free will?” he asked.
“That’s standard stuff for God. So, yeah.”
“If God is omnipotent, wouldn’t he know the future?”
“Sure.”
“If God knows what the future holds, then all our choices are already made, aren’t they? Free will must be an illusion.”
Does it sounds interesting? If it interest you, why don't have a go and read the book? It's free anyway.

Not the first head-butt for Zidane

Zidane's head-butt during the worldcup seems to be a hot topic after the world cup. As I was reading some football transfer news, I came across this pretty interesting article.

Apparently, it's not the first time Zidane head-butt anybody. In his entire football career, he's got 20 red cards and have head-butted, stomped, slapped, kicked players before. If you have a bit of time, and you read a couple of the readers comments, you can generally divide the people in to 2 types - Italian fans and Zidane Supporters.

It's true that Zidane is a legend and he did very well in the world cup but that doesn't give him the authority to head-butt any player at all whether he is provoked or not. You know well enough that you are playing at the finals, and by whistle ends (which is not too far away), you will either scored a goal or playing the penaltiees shootout. No matter how angry you are, you can fight with him later after the match.

You committed a foul, then you will have to prepare to get punish for it and not hoping that you can get away with it. This is a pretty serious foul and not just a push or so where you just get a yellow or warning. Besides, even having Zidane till the penalty, doesn't mean he will 100 % help France win the world cup.

What's done cannot be undone, and I think Zidane paid for his action by getting a red card. He deserve a red card and there's not doubt about it. Whether Meterazzi was acting or provoking, the truth is, Zidane DID head-butt him. If he didn't do it, Meterazzi can't act as well.

It's just a sad way for a lengend to end his career like this. There's no way for the French to get the cup back eventhough they get Meterazzi punished or whatsoever. Besides, Italian deserves to win the cup as much as the French deserve to win.

For me, I am happy to accept Italian as the winner which they will be for the next four years!!! Forza Italia!!!

Italy won the World Cup!!!

Congratulations to Italy for winning the worldcup!!! YEAH!!! I am one happy person!!! Not becuase I won money it's because they're the team I support!!! I was so prepared that Italy might lose because they're just unlucky in penalty. But this time..this time... they scored all 5 penalty! XD

Also, congratulations to Gianluigi Buffon for winning Lev Yashin award and Cannavaro (Silver Ball) and Andrea Pirlo (Bronze Ball) for being the second and third place of Golden Ball award. The Adidas Golden Ball award went to Zinadine Zidane which did a spectacular performance in the tournament except for the head butt incident. hahaha... Read more...

And the funniest thing that happen this time was what Zidane did. He actually head butt Meterazzi 15 minutes towards penalty shootout and he got sent off for that. It was really funny to see Zidane performing his Shoalin KungFu "Tit Tao Gong". It's sad that a legendary player like him ended his worldcup with a red card.

Anyway, if you miss the "Tit Tao Kung" action watch it here » Tit Tao Kung

The site explains to you why Zidane did what he did... and you wonder it might actually be true. haha ... XD

Below is a gif for easy viewing. :p

O'Briens Irish Sandwich Bar

O'Briens in the CurveRecently I went to try out the sandwich in O'Briens Irish sandwich Bar. There are many branches currently, but I think the very first branch was in The Curve. O'Briens is very famous worldwide and since they call it Irish Sandwich Bars, I supposed it is very popular and originated there. When you have time, check out this site O'Briens Irish Sandwich Bars

Salmon SandwichI had the Salmon Sandwich. Look at all those smoked salmon. Yum Yum... It was really delicious and with whole meal bread, half a sandwich is enough to make me full. :p

Triple DeckWhile a normal salmon sandwich couldn't satisfy my friend's stomach, he went for a triple deck sandwich. There's a layer of Chicken (I think) and there's a layer of crispy bacon. I bet this is really filling and it's really yummy too!

Sandwiches here are all made fresh on the spot when you order. Prices... Moderate, Not too expensive. Well worth your money and it's filling. Definately a very healthy meal. I will definately be back to try out their other sandwiches.
