All Stressed Out

Working in my new company just doesn't seems as easy. For the first week, I know I have a lot to do already. But I was clueless and work haven't "really" started. 2nd week, the work dump to me by my x-college mate now x-colleague. He left, and I am here to chew up all the scripts he's done/not done.

The people here are all very friendly and really willing to help. I have no complains over the working environment. But for now... it just seems too stress for me. First, I am not familiar with their application concept. Second, I have to get some super long script done and more to do. Third, I have some senior that keeps bugging me. And most important of all... I need to do it very quickly!!! That's what makes me soooo stress which I think it's the reason that I am getting gastric now.

But today... I manage to get one script done - the longest script! Hurray for me! >.< But still got so many to go... If I still don't find a way to manage my stress... I really might consider quiting the job. *sighs*

Yes I know I should be getting some help from others...which I did! I've been bothering nearly everyone and I just felt so bad about it coz everyone is busy. I really pity Sylphiel and Xell whom has to listen to alll my complains. Including the incident which I cried. No, I am not weak. It's just a way for me to release whatever stress piled up in me. It was not one of those bug "huh hah" cry. Just some sobbing. But I am all fine now~! *yeah* v^_^v

Good luck to me!

Sushi Tomo @ SS2

After the MPO, I actually had dinner with J, her sis and my bf. We didn't really know what to eat and it was past 8. Anyhow, we ended up at this newly opened Japanese Restaurant @ SS2. If I am not wrong, this place used to be Long Black Cafe. Out of one year, there's always many restaurants closing down and opening in SS2.

This particular Jap Restaurant is call Sushi Tomo (寿司友). From far when you first saw the restaurant, you would thought it was Sushi King. Why would I say so? Coz... their logo really looks very similar! When you step into the restaurant, you see sushi served. Well..actually, they serve a lot more than sushi.

The restaurant is actually quite big, and if you notice, there's flat screen monitor at every seat. Look to me that they're trying to copy the concept from Sakae Sushi. At Sakae Sushi, you make your orders on your seats through computer. It looks to me that's what they plan to do, however, when we were there, the PC was not in use.

Something that caught my attention was the soya sauce container. It looks cute. hahah... We've ordered some appetizers - takoyaki and chawan mushi. The chawan mushi taste quite good, but the takoyaki is seriously lack of taste. They were very stingy on the sauce.

Everything they served here are really normal and typical menu you will see in any Japanese retaurants. However, the menu arrangements was really messy and it confuses you. The listings of dishes is all over the place and you might just overlooked and didn't know they actually have certain things on the menu.

We had ramen, tempura don and this gyuniku don (If I didn't remember wrongly). All the dishes are not very big and everything taste VERY VERY normal. Nothing I could praise about and all I can say it's just Okay... The price was just okay too. Nothing special.

For me, it's definately not a place I would go again for Japanese food. All we could think of after we finished the dinner is "How long do you think this place can last in SS2?" Many shops open and closed down in a couple of months time countlessly in ss2. Will this restaurant suffer the same faith as the rest? Well... we shall see... :p

Vicenzi Biscotti

Well I know I haven't been updating my blog recently, hopefully... with the little bit of time on weekend at home... I will try and update as many post as possible which would mainly... about FOOD! XD

Notice the pack of MiniSnack ... I actually bought it in Isetan when I went to the MPO with Xell and friends. I bought it under the recommendation of Xell. :P It's not very cheap as this thingie is imported from Italy if I am not wrong. I can't really understand the description on the packaging actually...

Well... Anyway, this pack of things consists of 6 mini pastries or if I am Xell, I would call it biscotti. 6 mini biscotti and it cost about RM 7+. The bicotti is very crispy and covered with sugar outside. As you break it, there's creme inside. And trust me this thing is super yummy! It's quite sweet and if you don't have a sweet tooth or doesn't enjoy cream, this is not something for you. I said this coz my mom didn't like it coz she doesn't enjoy cream. haha...

Anyway, if it's not that expensive I would have bought more. er... Actually come to think of it, I can't buy more coz there's only one pack left for me to buy since Xell took 2 packs. There's no more on the shelves!!!

I am sure I wll be heading down to KLCC again soon, I would definately buy more this time!

New Job New Life

Just an update that I am officially unemployed employed again since Monday. Me now working in Mont Kiara. hehe... So far after 3 days, the company seems fine. I will not go to office earlier than 9 am anymore because nobody will be there to open the door although we're suppose to start work since 9am. haha...

However, by 9am there's only 3 person in office and by 10 I can say office is almost full. :p but of course, they work late as well... all I can say is, so far the working culture here seems quite flexible.

It also seems like quite a few of my school mate be it secondary or college mate is working there as well. I had this classmate from college and we're now in the same company! What a coincidence and he's been in the company for a year and spending most of his time in Bangkok.

I should be expected to travel to Bangkok as well... Just wonder when. :p

Wish me luck for my new job!

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO)

Lately, Xell and I seems to have developed a hobby to go MPO on weekends. We've been to a few already and more to come. The most recent one we went to would be one of those MPO Light Classics.

The programme details are as below:-

Programme Guide

MPO LIGHT CLASSICS
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra
Matthias Bamert
conductor
Alexander Toradze piano

BACH (STOKOWSKI) Toccata and Fugue in D minor (BWV565)
RACHMANINOV Piano Concerto No.3 in D minor (Op.30)
DVOŘÁK Symphony No.9 in E minor (Op.95) – “From the New World”

Americana from an Englishman, a Russian and a Czech. Bach’s famous organ work was given the full Hollywood treatment by the English–born conductor Leopold Stokowski in the soundtrack to Disney’s Fantasia. Rachmaninov’s ravishing Third Piano Concerto, also the star of a great movie – Shine – passionately expresses his homesickness from American exile, and Dvorák’s symphony – containing, in its ravishing Largo, one of the finest melodies ever written – was intended as an aural postcard of the sights and sounds he encountered during his time in the States.

If you are one of those who goes MPO quite often, then it's very common for you to listen to orchesetra music conducted by Matthias Bamert. He is the Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor if MPO. It is also a standard for every MPO session you attend, there will be a guest musician which he might be playing violin, piano, cello... etc.

For this session we went to, it's actually what they play for the Opening Gala Concert which is on Saturday. We went for the Sunday one instead since it's cheaper. Besides, not everyone can get tickets for the opening. For MPO, there's always a month or so break where there will be no performances at all and the Opening Gala Concert is sort of to state that the brand new season of MPO has started again.

I wanted to attend this concert quite badly because I really wanted to listen to
Toccata and Fugue in D minor. If you guys listen to Vanessa Mae when she very first came in to the music industry, I think she made quite a hit with this piece. Anyway, this version we listen in MPO is very different from the Vanessa Mae version.

This version is orchestrated by the late Leopold Stokowski (1882-1977) and this piece is used in the opening scene in Disney's classisc 1940 movie - Fantasia. This version is much slower than the Vanessa Mae version. But I like it anyway. XD

As for the guest musician for this concert is Alexander Toradze in which he performed solo on the piano for
RACHMANINOV - Piano Concerto No.3 in D minor. Being someone who loves piano and can play piano but not very good at it, I must say he is excellent. The duration for this piece was about 40 minutes long!!! Although he didn't play 40 minutes straight, but he did play at least 35 mintues non-stop. He is that good that he memorize the entire thing and needed no piano scores at all. (yeah yeah... I know most musicians can do that, but I can't help to be amused!) Most of the time, I saw him playing with his eyes close and full of emotion. Since the music is really sad, and he's got this very sad expression. He's like totally into the music.

As for the third piece, I know J fell asleep and Xell wanted to sleep too! haha... I must admit it's quite boring (although its nice). The music was quite slow and DAMN LOOOONG!!! 43 minutes!!

Anyway, it's overall an excellent experience. We shall see which concert to go next!

By the way, concerts on Sundays usually are not too expensive. The cheapest is priced at RM 20, but you will be sitting right at the front. RM 40 you get better seats in the centre or side further up where you can see the stage more. To purhcase tickets you can go to MPO's website. Certain concerts tickets does sells out faster than usual, so it is advisable to purchase your tickets earlier.

Eastern Delight (东丰) @ Kota Damansara

Been a bit busy lately, and finally have some time to blog... :p
Last weekend, dad took whole family to Kota Damansara to look for somewhere new to eat. We ended up having Porridge Steamboat at Eastern Delight. It was mom's treat. :p

Entrance

Seems like the restaurant is very popular. This is suppose to be a branch where the main restaurant is at Sri Petaling. The restaurant is packed and apart from what you see in the picture below, there's another section the same size at the right hand side which is packed too!

Interior

Set menu

We ordered set menu for four. It comes with prawns, many type of meat balls etc... It might not look a lot. But you can only tell if it's enough once you start to eat.

If you look at the picture, there's really nothing very special with the ingredients you get for the steamboat. However, I must say that the food are very fresh. Look at the prawns and the fishballs. One thing I am quite happy about is the various type of meatballs seems to be made by the restaurant itself and not those meatballs you buy from groceries shops or market. The meatballs were very fresh, delicous and very bouncy too. You know that bouncy feeling when you eat meat balls. haha...

The restaurant specialty is their porridge steamboat, but of course, they have the normal soup one too. The porridge is charged by per head. It cost RM 1.60 per head, so there were four of us. You get unlimited refill of porridge after that.

First, the claypot is fill up with
porridge . Let the porridge boil, then you dump whatever ingredients you wish to eat inside. Just eat when it's cooked. Haha... All of us ate porridge the last. By the time all the rest of the food is finished, we cracked 4 eggs into the porridge and dump all the vegetables (Bayam) into the porridge.

You can then put whatever seasoning you like, salt, pepper, sesame oil etc. All the standard seasoning for porridge are available on the table. The porridge was very sweet in the end and very delicous. That's coz all the taste of the meatballs, prawns, fish etc taste are in the porridge. One thing I must compliment is their chilli. I really love their chillies.

The meal was surpringly extremely filling. The only person left to finish everything up was actually my sister. The meal overall is delicous, though a bit costly. A meal for 4 plus drinks cost about RM 80+. But there's really something I want to complain about the meal is their "yau char kuai" was HORRIBLE! That's the worse "
yau char kuai" I ever ate in my life. >.< Otherwise everything was all good.
