No Internet for so many days...

waaah... blogspot just ate up my post!!!! Now I have to retype....

Finally... I am back online!!! After so many days, I can blog and best of all I can log on to MSN! All thanks to the terrible earth quake in Taiwan which ruins nearly all the important submarine cables that carries the connection for Taiwan, US, China and Malaysia.

Our Internet have been a complete standstill and we can't access sites that resides in Taiwan, China, US, Hong Kong and Europe. That's like nearly everywhere!!! God... Thank goodness things are getting better now. Taiwan is trying their very best to fix up the ruined cables.

Life at work have been a complete disaster these few days. The only sites I can access was The Star and China Press. Thank god China Press is actually a very interesting site to read.

Anyway...Hello readers! I am back! hohoho.....

Christmas Celebration!

Christmas @ KLCC

I know this is a bit late... but... I need to wish all readers...

Merry Belated Christmas and A Happy New Year!

I am not sure how everyone else celebrate their Christmas, as for me, Christmas is not something I celebrate every year, however, this year Christmas celebration seems to be very different from what I have every year. And this year, Xell and Ya celebrated their Christmas in Bangkok. I'm sure there's lots of stories to be told when they get back. :D

My celebration was a bit different, but nothing really special...

Christmas @ The Curve

23 December 2006
It's a Saturday, there's nothing much to do. I went to do some groceries shopping at Giant 1u and the place was quite packed. There really was nothing much to do other than I bought Ya's Christmas Pressie. :D

Evening... I went to my favourite hangout place - Delta Cafe @ Damansara Intan. There's a Christmas celebration there with free food and all. It's one of those usual celebration they have on nearly every occassion. I'm always there, of course, not only for the free food. :P I am always there on weekend to watch football and playing darts game. On today itself, there's MU match and I'm so happy that MU won 3 -0.

24 December 2006
There's really nothing much to do on a Christmas Eve as well. hahaha.... I stayed at home until evening I went to Delta Cafe again. hohoho.... It's open on this particular Sunday so that they won't have to do business on Christmas. I was only there for a short while.

There's this shop call Innocraft at Damansara Intan as well where you can exchange for gifts with your credit card points (RHB and Maybank) or Bonuslink points with gifts. Hmm... I got a blender for myself. hohoho~~~

And something special I did this year was attending a street party held at TTDI. Extremely near my house. The street party is organize by TTDI Gospel Centre. All TTDI residence are welcomed. The party was attended by Member of Parliament for Segambut, YB Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong as well as Deputy Minister of Finance , YB Dato Dr Ng Yen Yen.

Many tents were set up with lots of tables set up too! There's also plenty of food like mini sausages, fried noodle, satay, curry puff, drinks....etc etc... and there's plenty of ice-cream potong as well!!! Every family that arrives gets a goodies bag which have stuff like tea, instant noodles, biscuits... The organizers were really generous with the food and ice-cream potong especially. They keep asking everyone to eat and I've seen people taking the entire box home. There's really too much ice-cream potong to share. Even the goodies bag, they're like urging everyone to take more. hahaha.....

The party starts at about 8.30pm I think. I was there at 9. They were performances to entertain you till the struck of midnight. Everyone is encourage to stay till 12am to countdown to Christmas. The performances was all by everyone from TTDI Gospel Centre. There's senior youth band performances, youth band performances etc... All performing their own "rock" version of Christmas Carol. We all sang Christmas Carol too! There's lots of Christmas Carol song sheets on the table so that everyone can sing along.

Datuk came a bit later and he gave a nice speech not long after he arrive. There's also little girls performing story on how Christmas came along. There's even a few game booth for kids to play and win lots of prizes home. I didn't go there but I saw kids carrying lots of gifts like soft toys and Pringles. The party ended after the count down.

Though I am not Christian, but I certainly did enjoy the night. I guess my entire family will be going again next year if they did organize this party again.

25 December 2006
It's Christmas! There's really nothing much to do. I went 1 Utama with my bf. Expected to be packed but we were lucky and found a parking. And there's really nothing much to do in 1u either. There's no movie to watch so we just end up sitting at some place chatting till late evening.

I was suppose to go for some expensive dinner but... in the end we went to a friend's house to have Turkey for dinner! hohoho~~~ Yup... the friend invited us to have Christmas dinner at his house. We went a bit late, that's like after the family has finish eating lar... But of course there was plenty of food available.

I was so full after the dinner. The turkey was delicious and I absolutely LOVEEEEE the rendang. The rendang was EXCELLENT! I had so much...=_= Anyway... I went home after the dinner. See... there's really nothing much for me to do on Christmas. I just went home rest, online, sleep...coz I still need to work the next day....

Porto Romano @ TTDI

Porto Romano, an Italian restaurant which is opened very recently at TTDI. It's next to California Pizza and it's quite difficult to miss with the large purple restaurant name. I've been making noise I want to dine there ever since I saw it opening. So... one fine, nothing-much-to-do Sunday afternoon, my bf and I, not knowing where to have our lunch at TTDI (it's about 3pm), we ended up in the restaurant.

There was a warm welcome when we step into the restuarant. The staffs were very polite. Since it's a 3pm afternoon, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant is lightly decorated with Christmas ornament to bring out the Christmas mood. There's some light Italian music playing on the background. It's really a very comfortable environment to dine in.

The restuarant looks quite posh however the prices in the menu is cheaper than I expected. The food range between RM 10 - RM 40. They have all sorts of wine glass on display, I believe they do serve some good wine here.

There's also an open area for smokers or for anyone who wish not to dine in an non air-conditioned environment.

Since I am not suppose to be eating "too" much, I ordered one of their house specialty - "Porto Romano Seafood Soup". I think that's what it's called. :p The soup looks really good once its serve. There's a generous amount of calamari, prawns and clams filled with tomatoes and garlic taste. There's plenty of tiny garlic cubes in the soup. For someone who doesn't likes garlic, this is not something they will like. I am a garlic person, I seriously enjoyed the soup. There's also just nice amount of black pepper taste in the soup.

My bf was really hungry. We didn't know what to order, so the usual thing we like is Beef Pepperoni Pizza! It's known as Devil's Pizza in the menu. :P And my my, when the pizza came, it really made me drool! The smell of the pizza is just soooo nice!!! It's really cheesy and with lots and lots of pepperoni. All big pieces!!! The crust is so thing it's like having cheese on top of biscuits. This really is one of the best pepperoni pizza I've eaten.

The restuarant not only have many house specialty food, they have their own chilli sauce too! This Chilli sauce is made out of red chillies, vinegar, ginger and salt. And this is what I call Chilli sauce, it's really spicy!!! Those Campbell, Heinze etc chilli sauce really cannot compare with this. hahaha.... oh... the chilli sauce is suppose to goes well with pizzas and pasta. I didn't have much coz I find it very spicy. :P (This is not something Xell can touch!)

Without the need to request, there's parmesan cheese and dried red chillies served right at table. :D Excellent service! hahaha....

This was really a satisfying meal. I felt so happy leaving the place and I must go back there again. For some reason, I really enjoy Italian food. :D I love the food at Antonio's too! Though the 2 restaurants have completely different ambience and theme so you will have a different dining in both of these 2 restaurants.

p/s: Xell, Ya, J... You guys wanna dine here next year? I think we still owe you guys one meal :D Since this place is not that bad...why not we have our meal here?

McDonald's TY Bears!

McD has never failed in selling all the attractive toys/collectables which comes with Happy Meal or you can purchase with any other meal for RM 3. This time around, (which is not very long after they came out with Kitty Bricks), they are selling these adorables TY bears! It's so adorable that Xell and I have the entire collection of it. Unfortunately, Xell didn't have the Grimace Bear which was sold out.

Each of this bears cost RM 3 with any purchases. There are 2 new designs and every Thursday and you can have it free with Happy Meal.

First week: Ronald McDonald + Grimace

Second week: Hamburglar + Birdie

Third week: Fries + Birthday

Final week: Golden Arches + Happy Meal

Don't you think they look so adoraaaaaaaable? My personal favourite is Fries the bear! It's the most perfect bear I have and it's soooo cute! As you know, all these bears are made in China, there's always differences on how they look. Some might looks a bit more cacat or nicer than the other.

Now I know I have lots of toys sleeping on my bed with me... but I couldn't resist them!!! >.< style="font-weight: bold;">

Zuup Bar @ 1 Utama

Zuup Bar is one of those places we've frequented for many many years. We love the food and we love the people working there. The bosses are extremely nice people!!! We always chat with them and their name are Gavin and Mike. Anyway, there's been quite some changes to the shop and menu ever since we started eating there. Change for the better of course!

Zuup ...the name sounds like soup right? haha... They sell all sorts of soup here! Most famous for their Mushroom soup I guess. It's really good. After all the changes they've made, Zuup now has a soup menu and a normal menu with every other food other than soup. hahah... They also took over Famous Amous shop lot and now Zuup has an inner room which is pretty hidden.

I've tried most of their soup. Personal favourite is... their Irish lamb stew!!! This time around, Ya and I had clam chowder.

Look at the soup! yummy! it's really thick with a lot of clams in it! You can have the soup in a bread bowl but we were having meal and the soup is plainly for sharing, we didn't. Otherwise there's no way we can finish our food. :P

Ya had mushroom spaghetti. Or I think that's what they call it in the menu. ahhaha... The spaghetti is pretty much cover up with mushroom soup. They serve very good mushroom soup here but this spaghetti is something new on their menu. It taste good!

As for me, I had black pepper chicken chop. It was good except for there weren't enough sauce. And of course, with excellent customer service here, I was given extra sauce. :D And my, the piece of chicken was big and I really had to stuff myself to finish my meal coz we had soup as well.

And this is Xell's favourite. She nearly ordered this EVERY single time she eats here. It's call chick on toast. There's this big chunk of chicken, with ham layered on a slice of toast!

Usually the thick sauce with lots of mushroom is serve with Chick on Toast. Since Xell hates mushroom, she requested for the sauce to be serve seperately. Or shall I say... Gavin/Mike knows that Xell hates mushroom so they wanted to serve the sauce without mushrooms. Ya was saying she will have all the mushrooms (which in the end she didn't), so Xell was ok with the sauce having mushrooms inside. But to our surprise, there were LOTS of mushrooms. hahaha...

It's a really relaxing place and it's one of our favourite restaurants. The restaurant has Free Wifi and also PS2! Play all you want, it's free. :D Do go there and you won't regret.

Fish n Co @ 1 Utama

Last two Saturday's ago, I finally had a hair cut... yes, I can hear all my friends and stylist cheering as I was starting to look like a cult member but I wanted to keep my hair long so that I could swish my hair like the actress in "My Sassy Girl" but unfortunately, my hair's too thick to swish and could kill somebody in the process instead...

Anyway, after chopping off few inches off my long locks and my stylist was very happy with the results, she was swishing my hair left and right as it was so much more lighter now, me and ah ya had lunch at Fish n Co. We were given a very warm greeting (I'm not being sarcastic here, the waiter was really super friendly) and an introduction on the menu and the chef's recommendation for the day. Anyway, he was wasting his breathe on me coz I always eat the same thing... hahaha and when he mentioned that the chef's recommendation dish is a bit spicy, and I went "Spicy?" and he kept insisting that it's a BIT spicy. But like I said, he was wasting his breathe on me coz I already knew what I wanted. Anyway, to make his speech worth it, ah ya had the chef's recommendation and you know what, I actually forgot what the hell is the name of this dish! Haha...

And as usual, I had my Fish and Chips... yes... I love fish and chips.... Anyway, I love their fish and chips, the batter was crispy and not soggy and doesn't make me feel like puking after a few bites. So, I heavily recommend Fish n Co if you're looking for good fish and chips!

And we couldn't order any shakes as their blender was down that day but I had ... ok I forgot what's the name of this drink but it has cranberry in it coz it taste like my fav medicine when I was a child... And ah ya had 2 glasses of some lime drink as it was under this "Buy 1 Free 1" promo and in the end she couldn't finish both drinks coz I didn't want to drink it, it was dreadful! It's sour and bitter! Bleurrgghhhh!

Thanks Ya for the Mokona!!!

Chistmas is near!!! And I got an early Christmas present from my dear friend ah Ya. Look at this cute "big" thing. Awwww.... Doesn't it looks adorable??? If you watched Tsubasa Chronicles you probably recognise it as Mokona.

I really need to thank you for this BIG BIG BIG plushie!! It's so cuteeeeeeeee and so hugable. ah... I am missing it already!!! >.<>

I first spotted this plushie in an Anime shop in Cineleisure. It's imported from Japan!!! Original plushie from Sega! There's actually a white version which I intend to buy it for myself but unfortunately... it's sold out. :( Even the black one was the last 2 left. When I first went there, there were plenty of Mokona!!!

Ahh...me happy me happy... Anyway...so Ya... what You want for your Christmas/bday? And Xell too... I should buy a combined present since you guys are getting "older" not very far from now... hehehehe....

Tsui Village Restaurant @ Plaza Low Yat

About 2 weeks ago, I had went lunch with my ex-colleague. This is my second visit there for the dimsum. The dimsum served here is really excellent. :D We were there quite late actually... bout 2.30 pm =_= My friend insist that they serve dimsum whole day long but on the day I went, there's wedding preparation and they were about to close the kitchen serving dimsum.

We were there just in time. :D ANDDD... We had the entire restaurant to ourselves!!! hohoho~~~ But it just felt so odd... coz the restaurant is pretty big actually, all the tables arranged nicely and all for the dinner at night, and 3 of us occupied a big table. =_=;;

Clockwise from top left:
1. Peanut Tidbits
2. Pan-Fried Minced Turnip Cake with Chinese Sausage (香煎萝卜糕)
3. Steamed Shrimp with Pork Dumplings (Siu Mai) (北菇蒸烧卖)
4. Mashed Yam Croquettes with Minced Meet Filling (蜂巢荔芋角)

Since is the restaurant is those "dai zao ga" (大酒家), those Chinese restaurant that can host wedding etc... All the dimsum on the menu have fancy names. :D The peanuts is some tidbits they will serve you before anything else. It's sweet and soft. I really love it! The rest of the dimsum taste really good too!

Clockwise from top left:
1. Steamed Beancurd with Fresh Prawn (日式鲜虾豆腐)
2. Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (蚝皇叉烧包)
3. Baked Flaky Pastries with BBQ Pork Filling (蜜汁叉烧酥)
4. Bake Egg Tarts (酥皮蛋塔仔)

The char siu pao is really delicious. Small bun, the BBQ pork inside taste soft and and sweet. Yum yum... And I really love the mini egg tarts. It's so small you can just stuff the whole thing in your mouth. hohoho~~~ There are still many other type of dim sum on the menu. Some I've tried previously and I didn't have it now.

Many types of dimsum is sold out since we were there quite late. They serve porridge, Hong Kong style chee cheon fun etc etc... Everything there is nice! Of course, don't expect the price to be super cheap also lar... Each plate of dimsum is either RM 5.50 or RM 6.80. Chee Cheong Fun are more expensive and they have special dumpling with sharkfin filling which cost RM 14.

Our bill turns out to be RM 53+. There were 3 of us. And... there was a 20% off for the dimsum. hohoho~~~ Coz I think they were about to close shop. I will definately go there again, but this time, will go earlier la... XD

Nippon Tei @ KLCC

KLCC was crazy last week with Isetan member's sales and PC Fair going on, it's a crazy place to visit on a Sunday. If it's not for the Nutcracker, I think none of us would want to go there. We spent quite sometime hunting for a parking and were trying to stalk this pretty big guy trying to get his parking. hehe... He's a nice big guy coz he saw us and he pointed his car's location for us.

Lucky enough to find a parking spot. But it's crazy to find an eating spot coz nearly EVERY SINGLE place is packed! Can't be blame, we were there during lunch time. T_T At the end of the day, we ended up the pretty-packed Nippon Tei.

Even it's pretty packed we still need to wait for a couple of person before us (roughly 15 minutes) before we get seated. It's pretty nice place. It looks quite big from the outside, but judging with the amount of seats they have, I would say it's pretty small.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice. Clean and quite relaxing. Everything on the menu is slighly expensive. Nearly everything is cost RM 20 and above.

Clockwise from top left: Nabeyaki Udon, Chicken Katsu Nabe,
Teppanyaki Chicken and Chicken Teriyaki Set.

All rice sets comes with Salad, Miso Soup and Edamame. Since none of them eats Edamame, I get to eat them all! HOHOHO~~~ I don't really fancy Miso Soup, but I think their miso soup was really nice.

The Udon taste really good. If I do go there again, I will order the Udon. The Chicken Katsu Nabe was not bad either. My teppanyaki chicken was not bad but I thought the sauce was a bit too much and watery. As for the teriyaki, the sauce was SOOOO sweet. =_= If you mixed with rice, it will taste really good but if you try to eat the chicken covered with sauce alone... hmm... I don't think it's such a good idea. :P

The bill came up to RM 105.80. It's about RM 25+ per person. My teppanyaki is the most expensive among all - RM 25. The rest is about RM 22-23. You will need to pay 10% service charge and 5% govt tax. I think it's a pretty good lunch. :D

Location & Contact:-
Lot 426/427, 4th Floor Suria KLCC

MPO: Nutcracker Screenplay

Christmas is near... MPO having Christmas performances lately. This is one of their very first Christmas related performance and also the most unique concert we've attended so far. It's a screenplay!

What's screenplay? Just read the explanation here at Wiki. :p I'm sure everyone roughly knows the story about Nutcracker and it's also one of Tchaikovsky most famous ballet piece.

The version we get to watch is George Balanchine's. This version stars Macaulay Culkin as the Nutcracker Prince. If you watch the original movie, there should be narration and conversation. But for us, we watch the movie while listening to the music. Most of the time the music manage to follow the movie properly but sometimes we can tell that the music is slower than the ballet dancers movement. :P I guess it happens... It's really difficult for the music to follow the timing of the movie.

This version of Nutcracker is really nice. I enjoyed the ballet very very much. However I must say that Macaulay Culkin acting was very stone in the movie. Some part... he was actually very funny and all of us was resisting not to laugh out loud. XD

Carl Davis is the conductor of performance. I think he did an excellent job. And there was a meet the fans session so we manage to get his signature... :P And I just found out that he received his BAFTA for Special Lifetime Achievement for his contribution to the worlds of Film and Television. Oh gawd... We've just met an important person... O_O;;;

California Pizza Kitchen @ KLCC

Prior to the concert, all of us had our lunch in California Pizza Kitchen. Since this is not the first time I had a meal here, I very much look forward to having something different from what I had previously. My previous meal here was very satisfying. :D Though it's a couple of years ago (i know...haha)... I would assume that restaurants in KLCC would maintain a certain level of quality in their food.

California Pizza Kitchen is located at Park Mall on the first floor. If you take the escalator there's no reason why you will miss the restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant looks really classy and very comfy. If I didnt remember wrongly, if you look out the windows, you get a very nice view of the park. Unfortunately we didn't get the window seat. But since it's afternoon, it would be too bright for us if we were to sit there.

Peking Duck Pizza

I was getting a bit adventurous on that day and since my friend highly recommend this pizza, I gave it a try. And from what you see in the pic, it's no normal pizza. It's Peking Duck Pizza! There's pieces of duck, with peking duck sauce and there's lots of spring onion on top. First bite... *speechless* second bite... *speechless*

Overall, the pizza just taste very weird to me. =_= I dunno why my friend like it so much. I guess I am just not used to sweet pizza with spring onion taste. It was really really weird and I didn't quite like it. :( And I was not the only one who didn't like it, J find it weird too! This is definately a big NONO to me when I go there again. There's plenty of other good pizzas. :D

Rosemary Chicken Focaccia

The second dish we had is Rosemary Chicken Focaccia. Looks very promising, unfortunately... it tasted weird too. :( Ah...all the weird dishes in a day. The salad was really good! But the chicken was weird. It's written in the menu that there's white wine in it. I don't think I tasted much of the white wine. I tasted wasabi instead. =_= I think it's mustard.

According to one of my friend... she say the whole thing taste good if you eat everything seperately. =_= As in eat the bread, then eat the chicken... just dun eat them together, then it will be weird. Must be the mustard!

So sad that my second trip here was not a satisfying one. Ordered wrong food. :( Do go there and order other dishes coz the food is good. Maybe there's a lot of people who likes these 2 dishes, but definately not for me. Be prepared before you go to the restaurant coz the price is slightly on the high side. The peking duck pizza cost RM 30. I can't remember the price of the second dish.

I will definately go there again as they have plenty of other dishes to offer. :D

MPO: Debussy

The usual gang went to this concert on 19 Nov. It's the same conductor as the previous MPO we went. Actually... we went to many other MPOs just that didn't have the time to blog it down. :(

Sun 19 Nov 06, 3.00pm

ODYSSEY
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra
Matthias Bamert
conductor
Alain Lefèvre
piano

RAVEL Pavane pour une enfante défunte
BARTÓK The Wooden Prince
RAVEL Piano Concerto in G
DEBUSSY La Mer

Music which made reputations. Bartók’s fairy-tale ballet score, written during the First World War, was the work which established his international reputation while Debussy’s glorious evocation of the sea is his undoubted orchestral masterpiece. Beside these are two gems from Ravel: his elegant Piano Concerto is probably the finest ever written by a French composer while the gorgeous Pavane stands as one of the most famous pieces of music ever to come from the pen of a Frenchman.

Actually, this was one of those MPO I was dying to go. Why? coz Debussy is my favourite composer other than Tchaikovsky. And if you see the pieces they have, one of them it's La mer by Debussy. Well... it was really really nice... though I can't remember the tune now. I knew I enjoyed myself hahahaha....

The Wooden Prince was the first piece for the day and it was reallly looooong. Some section of the piece actually got a little bit boring otherwise I still think it's nice la...

The star of the day has to be the pianist!
Alain Lefèvre! Why? coz he played the piano really really really good!!! Excellente! He played Piano Concerto in G and he played it full of emotion. Most of the time he looks like he's trying to crush the grand piano into pieces la. hahaha.... If I played like him, I think I'll break my arm first. hahaaha....

Anyway, we got his autograph! After the show, we were walking down the stairs and saw him chatting with other musicians! So... one my friend took the book and requested for his signature. He's such a nice guy. :D He kept going madame monsieur or something like that la... I can't remember what he say. But he's really polite and really friendly and very approachable. yah yah... sounds like I know him all my life. haahha... but that's the impression he gave all of us. :D

Ah... next time... we must go get more autographs! hahha....

Movie: Cicakman

No... I didn't watch it. (I think it's not out yet). And No... I am not gonna watch it... It's some Malaysia's most anticipated "blockbuster" for year 2006. I mean... that's how they advertise on their site la. Erm... it's made with some super CGI blah blah... high tech cam... blah blah... Suppose to have action and erm... comedy. Yes comedy. But it looks like 100% comedy to me more than anything else. Oh... and it's about this city - Metrofulus. hmm... Yeah... the movie got me very curious so I read a bit about it...

For me... it looks like some copycat idea of Marvel heroes lor... If you've been to cinema lately... You guys might've watched the trailer. I think you can find it in YouTube. (I think)

Seriously...I couldn't help comparing. This copy cat version of Spiderman looks SOOO bad. It features some famous actors from some famous comedy on tv. And there's KRU in it too. That's if you know who's KRU to begin with la.

I hate lizards A LOT. I mean... I seriously HATES them! And I am freaked out by them all the time. If I see a lizard near me...I will be 10 feet away from it. Not like I like Spiders very much either but... I love Spiderman ok! He's cute! But look at our Malaysian made Cicakman. Have you seen red cicak any where in Malaysia before? I don't even know why they came up with the idea of Cicakman. I know Malaysia a lot of cicak la... but why??? Why cicak?

Hmm... Klon this Professor Klon really clone man. Reminds a bit of Batman la... The black lips part. But feels like I've seen this Klon some where... Any idea where?

And last but not least...the most ridiculous of all. The ginger boys! Yeah..those orange head twin like fella are called ginger boys. My god... How on earth they named their characters one! It looks like orangie version of the twins fella from Matrix Relaoded. But the twins in Matrix looks SOO COOL. Argh... Look at Malaysian made Ginger Boys. God... I would rather watch gingerbread man in a movie.

Well... If you didn't get enough of Cicakman... You're most welcome to visit their website... » Cicakman Oh yes... they have a website...
